The mesopotamic region is outlined by two important rivers: the Paraná and the Uruguay rivers. In the province of Misiones, there are rock formations that interrupt the course of rivers originating springs, streams and waterfalls. A very clear example are the well-known Iguazú Falls, which were declared as World Natural Patrimony of Humankind by the UNESCO. The National Park of Iguazú is one of the most visited by tourists from within the country and abroad. It has paths, bridges, stairs, balconies that allow you to walk through the main waterfalls. Though the most spectacular one is the Devil.s Gorge, there are also other interesting natural attractions, such as the San Martin island and the Iguazú river, where you can sail in rafts.
Around 200 km. away from the falls, there is another attractive point: the Jesuitic Ruins of San Ignacio, which testify the coming to these lands of the famous religious company founded by Saint Ignacio of Loyola. Another place worth visiting is the magnificent semi-precious stones deposit: Minas de Wanda.
