The northwest of Argentina is in large part a colorful, wind-sculpted montane desert traversed by green river valleys. It is the epicenter of Argentina.s colonial and pre- Columbian cultures.
The city of Salta, one of the oldest provincial capitals, is graced by numerous colonial and neo-colonial homes, and is the jumping- off points for the 14-hour train to the Clouds trip of the highland town of San Antonio de los Cobres.
Day trips from Salta to the Indian villages of Cachi, Humahuaca, Purmamarca and the pre- Columbian Tilcara fort in Jujuy province are an opportunity to see a Bolivian influenced culture. Cafayate, Salta`s second- largest city, the heart of the Calchaquí valleys, sums up the history of the area in it.s archaeological and colonial, vine and wine museums, as well as workshops of local artist and artisans.

Itinerary day by day:

Day 1:
- Departure from Buenos Aires to the city of Salta.
- Arrival and transfer to the selected Hotel.
- Regular city tour excursion in Salta.
- Lodging at the hotel.
Day 3:
- Breakfast and early in the morning excursion to the wine yards of Cafayate and to the colorful Quebrada del Rio las Conchas.
- Return to the hotel by night.
- Lodging at the hotel.
Day 3:
- Breakfast and early in the morning excursion to the Quebrada of Humahuaca visiting the small Indian villages of Purmamarca, Uquia, Tilcara and the pre- Columbian Tilcara fort in Jujuy province.
- Return to the hotel by night.

Day 4:
- Breakfast and free day.

Day 5:
- Breakfast and early in the morning excursion to the Indian village of Cachi, during the way you will pass throw Cuesta del Obispo and the National Park Los Cardones.

- Breakfast and transportation to the Salta airport to take the flight back to Buenos Aires.
